He is full professor at School of Civil Engineering (UPC). He graduated as Civil Enginyeer in 1987, did a Postgraduate course in Groundwater Hydrology at UPC and became Doctor at UPC in 1994. Teaching activity includes Soil Mechanics, Foundation structures, Geomechanics (Bachelor), CODE_BRIGHT (Master), Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (Master). He has been vice-dean and Dean of the Civil Engineering School at UPC. He has participated in research projects funded by Spanish programs, European programs and industry. He has received awards for paper published in journals. He is responsible for the development of CODE_BRIGHT which is a Finite Element Method (FEM) program capable of performing coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) analysis in geological media. It works combined with the pre/post-processor GiD, developed by the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE).
