Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC)
Paula Olea holds a degree in Geography from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2009). Between 2009-2014, she worked as project analyst in Environmental Assessment (Infraeco S.A & Ecohyd Ltda) and from 2014 to 2023, she worked as a remote sensing specialist at the Servicio Nacional de Geología y Minería de Chile. Her experience has been focused on the implementation of Earth observation algorithms and data visualization for geohazards, climate change, mining and geoenergies in Chile.
Since September 2023, she is research assistant and Ph.D. student at the Geomatics Research Unit of CTTC. Her Ph.D. is developed under the framework of the SMILE project (MultidiSciplinary and MultIscale approach for coupLed processes induced by geo-energies) and the main topic is how to use Earth observation to improve the understanding of the natural and antropogenic dynamic associated to geo-energies.
