Laura Blanco Martin

She is a mining and civil engineer by training, specialized in energy and underground engineering & management. After a PhD on passive rock reinforcement systems, she started working on thermal-hydraulic-mechanical coupled processes related to anthropogenic underground activities, such as nuclear waste disposal, energy storage and CO2 sequestration. She conducts experimental, theoretical and numerical work to better understand rocks and their interaction with underground activities. She is currenly assistant professor at the Center for Geosciences and Geoengineering of Mines Paris, PSL Research University.
